"Based on past years of observing our son taking lessons from 2 other kayak companies we saw how Bend Kayak School advanced his and his groups’ skills and knowledge directly in the river and with confidence. Our son’s enthusiasm from her instruction prompted us to give it a try. Our first full day lesson was for my husband and me the most valuable time spent in learning how to white water kayak. The owner of Bend Kayak School, and our instructor, was not only extremely knowledgeable and patient, but she knew how to teach the how’s and why’s of safe and fun kayaking to all levels of experience and of all ages. Her approach, that one should feel comfortable in the water, is delivered through good communication of understanding the use of the equipment , safety measures –water exits, rescue, river current dynamics, kayaking skills and paddling techniques all while having fun doing it. It made for a great day and wanting to do more! Another bonus is that Bend Kayak School supplied all the equipment necessary, new this season and top quality.
